From time to time I will offer you my random technology tip.  I love technology and sometimes have the need for the oddest task.  Maybe you do too!  This may or may not actually have to do with music. 🙂

I am an Apple fan all the way. At hope I work with an iPad mini (generation 1), iPhone 5, and MacBook Air.  At school however we use PCs (I’m not the biggest fan).

I love my MacBook air but am having trouble with it running out of hard drive space.  Therefore I decided to move my large movie files to an external hard drive.  I found lots of information about moving the whole library but not moving just a few select files.

This is how you move JUST the files but retain the library.

1. Open Finder and Navigate to username/Music/iTunes/iTunes Music/Movies
2. Copy and paste files to external hard drive.
3. Delete files from original location.
4. When you want to play a movie, you will get the notice: “The movie could not be played because the original file has not been found. Would you like to locate the file?”
5. Navigate to the file on your hard drive.
6. Play.

Hope this helps you clear up some space!

Wrapping Things Up

My final advice? When in doubt, bake cookies! (Pillsbury makes an excellent pull apart cookie dough, I must say). A dozen cookies on someone’s desk can make them feel warm and gooey inside (pun intended). This strategy has been around since the beginning of time and is a tried and true method.
